The article aims to determine the role of standardization in engineering industry and for cutting tools general. This paper explains basic principles standardization. technical committee (TC 95 ‘Tools’) was presented. main directions work functions TC ‘Tools’ are explained. Harmonization standards Russia is presented on example ISO 13399 international standard. reveals positive aspects officially translated versions enterprises. also describes standardized when working computer-aided design systems (CAD).
